Helping teenagers navigate the noise

Your space. Your terms. Your true self.

I offer a dedicated space for teens to figure things out without being told what to do. Whether it’s anxiety, social pressure, or just feeling 'off,' we'll work together to find the clarity and confidence you need to just be you.

Release anxiety & stress

Gently calm your nervous system and remove the 'invisible' triggers that keep you in a state of high alert.

Break habits & patterns

Move past the behaviours that willpower alone hasn't been able to touch... yet

Transform self belief

Silence the 'not good enough' narrative and build a foundation of deep, unshakable inner confidence

To the teen

Does it ever feel like everyone has an opinion on who you should be, how you should act or what you should be doing? It can be exhausting.

If you’re feeling stressed, "low," or just like you’re carrying a heavy backpack of emotions you can't put down, I’m in your corner.

This is a space where:

  • We (You and I) work on what you want to change.

  • There's no judgment. You can say what’s actually on your mind without worrying about getting a lecture.

  • You’ll learn how to manage those "big" feelings with tools so they don’t manage you.

The goal? You walking away feeling lighter, happier and confident to just be you.

"I went into life coaching feeling nervous and didn’t have much hope. I quickly changed my opinion after the second session. After only a few sessions, I have seen some amazing results on how I feel and how I react to things. I 100% recommend Dianne!"

To the parent or caregiver

You want the best for your child. You see their potential, but you might also see them struggling with big emotions, self-doubt, or the weight of expectations. It’s hard to watch from the sidelines when you just want them to be happy.

My goal isn't to "fix" your teenager, because they aren’t broken. My goal is to help them clear the mental clutter so their true, confident self can shine through.

What I can offer:

  • A neutral "third-party" mentor: Sometimes teens find it easier to open up to someone who isn't Mum or Dad.

  • Professional expertise: I use a blend of life coaching and Positive Young Minds frameworks to overcome obstacles and build confidence.

  • Communication: While the coaching space is private for the teen, I include a parent debrief (with the teen's agreement) one week after the The Teen Transformation package has concluded for an update on the growth that has been noticed and to help you understand how to best support their growth at home.

The Teen Transformation

A focused, three-step programme designed to unlock the person you really want to be.

Includes:

  • 3 x 1-hour one-on-one coaching sessions

  • A Parental/caregiver debrief one week post the conclusion of the package. Note: This only happens if the teenager agrees, as maintaining trust and privacy is my priority.

FAQs

For teenagers

What happens in the first session?

In our first session, I'll work with you to create a safe and supportive environment where you can share your concerns, challenges and goals. I'll listen to your story, ask questions and help you gain insight into your situation. I may use a variety of techniques to help you identify negative patterns and develop coping strategies. Together, we'll create a plan of action to achieve your goals.

Do I join online or in person?

I offer both online and in-person sessions. You can choose the option that best suits your needs and preferences. Online sessions are conducted via secure video conferencing software and offer the convenience of meeting from anywhere with an internet connection. In-person sessions take place at my Christchurch office and provide a more personal touch.

How can you make a difference?

With training in life coaching and hypnotherapy, combined with my life experience, I have a unique blend of expertise and understanding that allows me to help clients identify what gives them energy, build confidence, and make positive changes in their lives. I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs and goals. With my support, you can learn to navigate life's challenges with greater ease and find greater fulfillment in your personal and professional life.

Is this therapy?

Not really. While therapy often looks backward at the past, coaching is about where you are right now and where you want to go. Think of it like a sports coach or a music mentor, but for your life and your mind. No lying on a couch, no clinical vibes, just a conversation and practical tools that will take you from where you are to where you want to be.

Are you going to tell my parents everything I say?

No. Our sessions are a "vault." For this to work, you need to know you can say what’s actually on your mind. The only exception is if I think you or someone else is in serious danger. Otherwise, what we talk about stays between us.

What happens in the parent debrief?

Usually a week after our third session I call or meet with your parent(s)/caregiver for an update on your personal growth and to give them an overview on what we have covered to ensure they are placed to best support you going forward. You make the call if you would like this to happen or not.

FAQs

For parents and caregivers

What's the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy often focuses on diagnosing and treating clinical mental health conditions or processing past trauma. Coaching is forward-action oriented. We focus on the "here and now", giving your teen practical tools to manage anxiety, build self-esteem and navigate social pressures. If I feel your teen requires clinical psychological support, I will discuss this with you immediately.

My teen is quite private. What if they won’t talk to you?

This is very common! I don't expect them to walk in and pour their heart out in the first five minutes. My background in the Police, as a teacher and as a mother has taught me how to build rapport without pressure. I use various tools and entry points to make the conversation feel natural. My first priority is always building a foundation of trust with your teenager. Often, having a neutral, professional "third party" in their corner creates a unique safety net. You might be surprised at how much a teenager is willing to open up when they know they are speaking to someone whose only agenda is to listen and cheerlead their growth.

How involved can I be in the process?

To build the necessary trust with your teen, the three coaching sessions are private. However, you are a vital part of the "transformation." The final parent debrief is designed to give you a high-level overview of the tools your teen has learned and how you can best support their new lighter mindset at home, without breaking the teen’s trust.

What if my teen refuses to attend?

Coaching is a collaborative journey between the Coach and Coachee. Coaching will not be effective if the Teen is not onboard.I am happy to have a quick 10-minute discovery call with them first if they are curious about coaching and to see if I am the right fit for them
